Over the Chinese New Year holiday our church in partnership with the Island ECC Filipino fellowship conducted training seminars for OFWs (overseas foreign workers). 10 of our ladies completed their training and are now certified Everyday Evangelism Trainers. This is crucial to our church, because our Pastor Jorge and his wife Bolen (far left) have intentionally focused on equipping leaders, and these ladies are the fruit of their efforts.
We don't know how much time we have left at our current facility, but expect to lose the use of it at any time. We haven't yet found anything that we can afford, so if we have no permanent place, we will book community halls 2 times a month; and the other 2 weeks we will meet in parks and open areas in 6 different districts around Hong Kong. Our leaders are ready and willing, and we are organizing and planning for this contingency.
Have you thought about what you would do if you no longer had a church building? What if you couldn't even meet in homes? How would your church survive and thrive? Strip away the sound system, the instruments, the chairs, the power points, hymnals, etc. Do you still have church? What is the heart of the New Testament church? Our band of disciples is facing this with courage and conviction. Please continue to pray for us.
